NYCI Youth Arts Online Summer School
The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) Youth Arts Summer School, Art in Nature and Urban Arts when working with young people, will take place online this year over three weeks in May. This training will help you gain practical and creative skills in outdoor and visual arts – and you’ll have a ready to run programme developed by the end of it!
The course will run from Monday, 17 May – Wednesday, 2 June at a cost of €100 for NYCI members and €130 for non-members. The workshops will run on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays over the course of three weeks. Monday & Tuesday sessions (10.30am – 1pm) will be artist-led workshops. Thursday workshops (10.30 – 12.30) will be facilitated by the Youth Arts Team in NYCI and will focus on supporting the development of project design and evaluating outcomes.
It is essential that participants are available to attend all sessions
This practical and in-depth training will support you to develop new skills to communicate better with young people in visual and innovative ways.
Through NYCI’s mentoring process, you will be supported to create a six-week programme ready for implementation this summer:
- You will learn to identify best practice and approaches when using creative activities with young people;
- You will discover how to advance youth work outcomes within the context of youth arts projects;
- Through a learning-by-doing approach, you will explore the process from a participant point of view
If you have any questions about the Summer School, do get in touch.
