Aran Corcoran: Aistear Amhránaíochta (Journey in Song)

We have been contacted by Aran Corcoran, an Irish composer and writer/translator.

Aran has recently completed two short Irish-language song cycles for youth choir and orchestra as part of a new music resource called Aistear Amhránaíochta (Journey in Song) with the support of an Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG).

The cycles, Na Ceithre Shéasúr (The Four Seasons) and Aistear Nollag (Christmas Journey), are available for schools, choirs, orchestras, etc. at the new website www.aistearamhranaiochta.ie.

Each song is available as a complete recording (with voices) and “backing track”, while vocal scores and lyrics can be downloaded. Aran also has full orchestral scores and parts available.
