Young Waterford Student Receives Donation of Old French Violin

Pictured below is Amber Shamshad from Waterford with her new violin which was purchased from IAYO by a wonderful anonymous donor who then made this old French violin available to Amber for her studies.
Amber’s violin, which was fully restored by Hugo Vegter, was originally donated to IAYO by an initial anonymous donor. The instrument is an old French Violin made in Mirecourt in the early 1900’s and is made of deep medium Figured Maple and Spruce Top. It truly is a beautiful instrument.

This violin was then purchased from IAYO with the intention of passing the instrument to a deserving young violin student for their studies which is how it was delivered to Amber!

The people who bought the instrument from IAYO, who wish to remain anonymous, are longstanding supporters of IAYO and were thrilled to be able to contribute to such a group, as well as helping to further the education of a young musical talent. We want to wish Amber all the best in her musical future with her new violin and extend a huge thank you to the anonymous purchaser of the violin for giving Amber this opportunity and to other young students who will, in the future, also benefit from this lovely instrument.
