Safe to Create Disability Awareness Training
Safe to Create will be holding free disability awareness training, online and in person, in November and December.
There are two online training sessions (approx 75 mins) led by Employer for Change (an employer disability information service funded by the Dept of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth). This will look at disability in an Irish context, language, legislation, positive business case for disability, challenging misconceptions, reasonable accommodations and disclosure. Training is free, but you do have to register.
Arts & Disability Ireland will lead an in-person training session on disability equality tailored for the needs for arts organisations who want to include artists and audiences with disabilities in what they do. This half-day workshop in Wexford places disability firmly in the context of equality and rights, and covers topics including ways of thinking about disability, thinking about words, thinking about access, communication and participation. This training takes place on Wednesday, 13 December at 2pm in the National Opera House, Wexford, register here.
Should you have any reasonable accommodation requirements for any of these sessions please email email@example.com or call 01 6704906.
