Participate in a Youth Orchestra Survey
Charlotte O’Donoghue, a PhD candidate in Music at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, is carrying out research into youth orchestra participation in Ireland. Charlotte would like young people to fill out a survey about their experiences of youth orchestras in Ireland, the survey is expected to take about 15 minutes to complete. Participation in this study is voluntary and anonymous. Young people aged 8-26 years from orchestras around Ireland are invited to take part in the study.
There is one survey for the parents/guardians of players under the age of 18 which can be found here and a second survey for young people over the age of 18 to fill out themselves which can be found here.
The study and your participation will provide valuable information that may help gain a better understanding of who is participating in youth orchestras in Ireland.
At the end of the study, the information will be used to present the results. The information will be completely anonymous. No person’s name appears in any of the results. All data gathered from the research will be stored securely and safely by the researcher. The information that is stored will be stored by Charlotte O’Donoghue on a computer that is password protected.
