Orchestral Connections Concert in Carlow
Orchestral Connections is proudly presented by four youth orchestras St Agnes’ CCMA Chamber Orchestra, Carlow Youth Orchestra, Kiltra School of Music and St Peter’s School Project Orchestra at the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, in association with Carlow County Council Arts Office.

Where: George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Old Dublin Rd, Carlow
The programme includes a commissioned work by Carlow composer, Ailbhe Kehoe, Three Irish Counties, and will include the music of Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite Part I and a variety of music from each orchestra. Three Irish Counties was commissioned as part of the IAYO Youth Orchestra Collaboration Grant scheme, read more here. Three Irish Counties incorporates songs from the three counties the orchestras are from (Wexford, Dublin and Carlow).
Together the four orchestras form an ensemble of 99 players. Their collaboration has included rehearsal in Wexford, a performance at the National Concert Hall, Dublin at the IAYO 28th Festival of Youth Orchestras and culminates in Carlow at the George Bernard Shaw Theatre.
