ESTA Ireland – European String Teachers’ Association Re-Launches

We are delighted to announce that ESTA Ireland – European String Teachers’ Association Irish Branch – is set to re-launch with a full-day workshop on Sunday 3 March with Diane Daly from the Irish Chamber Orchestra at the University of Limerick.

The ESTA Ireland team are a core group of three violin / viola teachers working in their respective music schools in County Galway who believe that string teachers have so much to learn from each other and to share with each other! They are looking for other string teachers to join them in this network which will be a platform for ideas, workshops, materials and information around anything to do with string teaching.

ESTA Ireland will work closely together with ESTA UK – a fantastic network and resource for string teachers for over 4 decades. ESTA UK, whose new president is Nicola Benedetti, are generously supporting ESTA Ireland and it’s members in any way possible. As members of ESTA Ireland, you will also receive the ARCO magazine four times a year which will have an ESTA Ireland page included from the next edition (May 2019) onwards.

You can sign up to become an ESTA Ireland member and to the workshop with Diane Daly here. ESTA Ireland annual membership is €40 and the workshop is free to ESTA members.

The workshop, ‘Bringing the PLAY back into playing a string instrument – how Dalcroze principles can benefit everyday playing and teaching’, will take place on Sunday 3 March from 10:30am4:00pm in the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio at the University of Limerick.
