Apply for Athenry Music School’s Reach for the Baton Conducting Workshops
Reach for the Baton is an exciting opportunity for beginner or emerging conductors to gain tuition and experience with world class conductors in a live music setting.
Athenry Music School are delighted to offer workshop places to 20 musicians. The workshops will take place in two different venues at Athenry Music School and at the Irish Chamber Orchestra Buildings in Limerick in January 2023.
Reach for the Baton’s Artistic Patron is Eimear Noone and Sinead Hayes is the workshop leader.
The deadline for applications is Monday, 19 December 2022.
The Reach for the Baton scheme has been developed to give musicians of ages 14 – 101 (grade 5 and above) the chance to develop their basic conducting skills, and to try those skills out with live musicians in a supportive and collegial atmosphere. During the Sandbox Conducting Session, guided by Galway conductor Sinéad Hayes, you will have a 90 minute group conducting lesson, followed by a session with string quartet.
