Speakers include Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailovic, Secretary General of Europa Nostra; Judith Videcoq, Head of Unit, Creative Europe; Detlef Grooß of the influential Orchestras of Change; Hugo Ticciati of the extraordinary O/Modernt; EUYO Rehearsal Director Peter Stark; mental health coach Dinka Migić-Vlatković; and Olga Sismanidi of the Creative Europe office at the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
Session 1, 10am
The Power of Networks: Launching Young Orchestras of Change:
EUYO will hold an in-depth, immersive discussion of the creation of a new ‘Young Orchestras of Change’ network, inspired by the German initiative Orchester des Wandels. With climate change and sustainability at the forefront, this morning-long session will have a highly participatory format, enabling everyone to input with a free exchange of ideas. Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailovic will introduce it, highlighting the potential and opportunities such a network can offer, before a deep dive led by Detlef Grooß and colleagues from Orchester des Wandels. Finally, Olga Sismanidi will guide participants from concept to reality in designing a network structure, goals, and timeline.

European Union Funding for the Cultural Sector:
Learn about the major EU culture funding strand Creative Europe 2021-27, and also explore a number of the European Commission’s cultural and education support opportunities. The session will look at recent new policies and priorities, and include a Q&A.

Inspiring Ideas for That Perfect Rehearsal.
As in all learning environments, young musicians have different needs, motivations, experiences and knowledge. The role of both rehearsal planner and conductor is crucial in ensuring that musicians have the best possible experience when embarking on an orchestral journey. In this session, there will be discussions of different rehearsal techniques and effective rehearsal strategies. With EUYO Rehearsal Director Peter Stark, mental health coach Dinka Migić-Vlatković, and Hugo Ticciati of O/Modernt.
