Dutch Ensemble Looking for Irish Players

The Dutch Ricciotti ensemble is looking for two young Irish violin players aged from 18 to 30 for a tour in The Netherlands and Ireland. This tour will start in The Netherlands on Monday, 29 July and will end Friday, 15 August in Cork. The talented Séamus Hickey will join the ensemble as soloist for the summer tour.

The Ricciotti ensemble is a Dutch symphonic street orchestra consisting of 43 young musicians with the mission of bringing live symphonic music to people everywhere. Since its founding in 1970, the ensemble has played in all kinds of institutions including care homes, asylum seeker centers, homeless shelters and prisons.

The program of every performance consists of short pieces from many different genres: classical, pop, jazz and also non-western music.

Those interested in applying can send a video of a solo piece of approximately 5 minutes and some orchestra-excerpts that the ensemble will send in advance. From July 29 until August 3, there will be a rehearsals in The Netherlands. Then the ensemble will tour in The Netherlands from August 4 until August 9. On 10 August, the ensemble will fly to Dublin. The ensemble will play in and around Dublin, Galway and Cork.

The Ricciotti ensemble will arrange and pay for all your travel, food, and accommodation. For the tour in The Netherlands, the ensemble will book you a return ticket from Ireland. Additionally, the Ricciotti Ensemble will provide for your travel insurance and third party insurance for the duration of the tour.
