Music Capital Scheme 2024

Applications for the Music Capital Scheme 2024 are now open, learn more here.

The Music Capital Scheme, which is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, provides funding for the purchase of musical instruments to individual professional musicians and non-professional groups across the country. A total of €542,000 in funding is available through the following awards which are now open for applications:

Award 1 – for non-professional performing groups
Award 2 – for individual established professional performing musicians
Award 3 – for individual emerging professional performing musicians

An extensive range of applicant supports are also available between now and the application deadline. We have outlined the different supports that are available below.

The deadline for applications is 2pm on Tuesday, 25 June 2024.

There will be online information sessions and consultant sessions in May and June.

  • General Information Session for Organisations (Award 1): Tuesday, 21 May at 6:00pm

  • Specific Information Session for Awards 1, 2 & 3:

An extensive range of applicant supports will be delivered during May and June 2024. These supports will be available to both organisations and individuals, with a particular focus on supporting first time and previously unsuccessful applicants. All supports are provided free of charge.

They will include:

  • Six Zoom seminars on key topics relating to the application process
  • A limited number of one-to-one consultation sessions with each seminar speaker
  • Bespoke phone and email support from Music Network

There are a limited number of one-to-one consultation sessions with each seminar speaker. To book a one-to-one consultation with any of the seminar speakers, please email Sarah Ledwidge at programmesadmin@musicnetwork.ie. Please include a contact phone number, the name of your organisation (if applicable) and whether you have made any previous application to the Music Capital Scheme.

Please note, one-to-one sessions are limited and priority will go to first time and previously unsuccessful applicants. Attending a support session is not a guarantee of funding.

Later this year, Music Network will introduce new schemes to address specific challenges faced by emerging professional classical musicians and by arts venues presenting live music.
