Funding: The Arts Council Announce Next Generation Artists Award

The purpose of the Next Generation Artists Award is to support a group of promising artists across all disciplines at an early but pivotal stage in their career.

Applications open Tuesday, 14 March 2023.

Successful recipients will also be invited to take part, and contribute to ART: 2023. 

ART: 2023 is a partnership programme between the Arts Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to mark the final phase of the Decade of Centenaries programme 2012–23.

Each Next Generation Artists Award recipient will receive €25,000.

The Next Generation Artists Award is available in the following artforms:

  • Architecture
  • Arts Participation
  • Circus
  • Dance
  • Film
  • Literature (English & Irish)
  • Music
  • Opera
  • Street Arts
  • Spectacle
  • Theatre
  • Traditional Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • YPCE

Guidelines for this award will be published on the available funding section on our website in early March 2023.

Applications will only be accepted through the Arts Council’s online services website. Applicants who have not previously used the online services site must register in advance of making an application.  It may take up to five working days for your registrations to be confirmed so it is very important that you register as early as possible.
