Composition Residency in Association with the CMC & Centre Culturel Irlandais

Applications are now invited for the Contemporary Music Centre / Centre Culturel Irlandais Composition Residency 2022-2023. The Residency is open to musicians working in any genre seeking to further their performance career.

Closing date for applications is 5pm, Wednesday 12 January 2022.

Artists in residence have been appointed on an annual basis since the Centre Culturel Irlandais was inaugurated in October 2002. Through the residencies and its diverse cultural programme, the Centre Culturel Irlandais showcases Ireland’s dynamic contemporary culture on an international stage.

Applicants must be Irish citizens or normally resident on the island of Ireland, with professional involvement in creative practice.

Composition Residency in association with the Contemporary Music Centre

The CMC is supporting a 1-month residency for a composer who is represented by the Contemporary Music Centre. Please tick the relevant box in the Application form if you are represented by CMC.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The residency is open to practitioners in all art forms, within the limits of the facilities available in the Centre.
  2. The bursary covers travel and accommodation in the Centre Culturel Irlandais. The artist is expected to spend the period agreed in the Centre.
  3. Each resident artist will receive a stipend of €750 per month.
  4. Artists may apply for a second residency on the understanding that they will be offered accommodation and travel ONLY.
  5. The artist in residence will be asked to participate in the cultural programme of the Centre Culturel Irlandais.
  6. This programme of residencies begins in September 2022 and runs until August 2023. In the event that travel restrictions due to COVID still apply during this period, residencies may have to be postponed but will be honoured regardless.
