SinfoNua
SinfoNua is a new orchestra for emerging musicians providing an experience mirroring that of a professional orchestra.
Musicians will participate in an intensive series of rehearsals with renowned conductor David Brophy during the week of 10th August, with lunchtime performances with internationally acclaimed soprano Celine Byrne on Wednesday 12th and Friday 14th.
SinfoNua welcomes applications from students in the final years of undergraduate study, post-graduate students, or recent graduates.
There is no charge to participate in SinfoNua, and all players who are accepted will be paid a modest honorarium for the rehearsals and concert.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd April 2015. Candidates must prepare a fast movement and a slow movement from a Classical or a Romantic concerto. A list of sight reading will become available 10 days prior to the audition. Candidates must supply their own accompanist.
Deadline for receipt of application is 6pm on Friday 10th April 2015. Find out more at nch.ie.
