MTU New Skills for New Artists Course | Autumn 2021
Following the success of the MTU course New Skills for New Artists (NS4NA) pilot course earlier this year, MTU are delighted to announce a second course from October to December. The course will help you identify and develop a business idea related to your music practice with 3 modules integrating your business, technology, and marketing considerations to help you make your ideas more likely to succeed.
This course is suitable for musicians who want to enhance their skill set in areas such as marketing, entrepreneurship and music techology.
The free course will be a blended experience with 1 live class in MTU’s Cork School of Music in Cork City centre and 1 online class which will be linked with participating groups in Belgium and Spain.
The course will consist of 3 modules:
- Entrepreneurial and business approaches to musical idea creation, assessment, development and management;
- Technology, home recording, lighting, audio-visual, streaming, creative uses of technology;
- Social media and marketing including branding, tools and measuring effectiveness.
The three modules will guide you to establishing a business plan for your project; the technological knowledge you will need to implement it and a strategy to reach and grow your audience.
This course is open to those resident in Ireland between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
