IAYO Tutor Professional Development

Would you like to learn more about tutoring youth quartets and small ensembles?

Under the direction of Katharine Mac Mághnuis, IAYO will host tutor professional development for anyone with an interest in learning more about teaching chamber music to young ensembles.

This course will run in conjunction with IAYO’s National Chamber Music Workshops on Saturday, 26 October 2024 in Dublin and includes the opportunity to observe highly experienced chamber music tutors and performers.

The cost for this course will be €100 (€50 for students). Apply before Friday, 18 October 2024.

This training is suitable for:

  • Music tutors with experience in teaching chamber music to young people;
  • Music tutors with little or no experience in teaching chamber music to young people;
  • Conductors who may wish to know more about working with smaller ensembles of young people;
  • Third-level students with an interest in pursuing tutoring chamber music and small ensembles.

The training will be a two part series, consisting of both an online Zoom and a full day of observation.

Katharine Mac Mághnuis will conduct the Zoom session on Monday, 21 October 2024 at 7.30 to 8.30pm, with the full day in-person observation in Rosary College, Crumlin Dublin following this on Saturday, 26 October.
