Esker Festival Orchestra 2022 | Applications Open

After two long and difficult years of pandemic restrictions on large orchestra projects, Esker Festival Orchestra are delighted to finally announce that their 2022 summer rehearsals and Irish performance tour will take place from 15th – 21st August 2022!

Rehearsals will take place in the wonderful surrounds of the National University of Ireland, Galway and will see performances in Galway, Cork and Dublin under the baton of young Mexican conductor Rodrigo Sámano.

They are excited to announce what could be their most ambitious programme yet, featuring performances of Gustav Mahler’s titanic 1st Symphony and the beautiful ‘Poème’ for Violin and Orchestra by Ernest Chausson featuring the incredible Irish violinist Phoebe White.

Applications are open to advanced musicians over the age of 18 to take part in this unique peer-led orchestra made up of Irish and international young professionals and advanced students.

Applications are open until 1st May 2022.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the orchestra you can apply by emailing eskerfestivalorchestra@gmail.com with a video recording of your playing, your CV or short biography and a scan of an ID for proof of age. Please remember that you must be over 18 to take part and that the number of places in the orchestra is limited. All rehearsals and concerts will take place from 15th – 21st August 2022 and all players must be available for all of the dates.
