Culture Night Cork City 2021 | An Evening of Online Youth Orchestra Performances

Come join us and Civic Trust House online from 6pm on Friday, 17 September as we host an evening of youth orchestra performances for Culture Night Cork City 2021.

We are delighted to have three performances from ensembles broadcast this year as part of Culture Night Cork City 2021! The Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra, ConCorda Chamber Music Course for Strings and the Esker Festival Orchestra will all broadcast pre-recorded performances as part of the annual celebrations which will be free and easily accessible on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra will start the proceedings at 6pm, performing a programme of Purcell’s Fairy Queen & Lully’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Ballet des Nations which was recorded in July in St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin. Watch on Facebook & YouTube.

Following this, at 7pm, ConCorda Chamber Music Course for Strings will present a selection of chamber music ensemble performances, recorded in August in Belvedere College, Dublin and MTU Cork School of Music. Watch on Facebook & YouTube.

To finish up this wonderful night of orchestral performances, at 8pm we will see the Esker Festival Orchestra conducted by EFO founder and director Peter Joyce! Pre-recorded in the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio, the chamber ensemble, comprising of some of Ireland’s top emerging young professional musicians, will perform a varied programme of music including Ravel’s Le Tombeau des Couperin, Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 in D Major.
