Contemporary Music Workshop with Evlana Musicians

The Evlana Ensemble are hosting a contemporary music workshop in the National Concert Hall in Dublin for performers, composers and listeners.

Ahead of Evlana’s concert at the NCH on Thursday, 25 May, contemporary music specialists William Dowdall (flautist) and Sylvia O’Brien (soprano) are presenting a workshop to explore the challenges of interpretation, style, extended techniques, score reading, improvisation and performance practice of the 20th and 21st century contemporary landscape This lecture/recital is open to all performers, composers and listeners.

Evlana Ensemble is made up of some of Ireland’s most accomplished performers. It is a flexible group with programmes ranging from smaller ensemble groups to a sinfonietta sized orchestra. It was founded by composer, Siobhán Cleary in 2015. Evlana places contemporary music at the heart of its programming and provides an opportunity for Ireland’s most accomplished performers and composers to produce and perform their work.
