Applications Open for WOWFest 2024 in the UK

The Wells Orchestral Weekend festival invites youth orchestras and student choirs from across world to attend the three-day event, consisting of various concerts and workshops between 19 and 22 July 2024.

The festival will be held in Wells’ Cathedral, Cedars Hall, the town hall and the market square. Attendees will be able to attend an expert workshop with a WOWFest tutor, a schedule of social activities, and a WOWFest barbeque and Ceilidh on the Sunday night.

The festival package includes three nights’ half-board accommodation or a 3-star hotel according to budget, a tour manager, two concerts, a workshop and a festival t-shirt for all.

WOWFest is open to youth and student orchestras, choirs and bands from around the world. According to the nature, size and requirements of the ensemble, they will fully tailor your participation to include the best venues, tutors and concert opportunities for you.

WOWFest was created in 2018 by The International Music Exchange, under the patronage of local celebrity conductor Charles Hazlewood, to bring music and musicians to the beautiful medieval streets of Wells. WOWFest strives to provide superb concert opportunities and an unforgettable cultural experience for performers and audiences alike. Choirs, bands, orchestras and ensembles from all corners of the globe are welcomed to England’s smallest city for an intense weekend of workshops, presentations, concerts and fun social activities.

Perform joint and solo concerts in the beautiful 12th century cathedral, the moated Bishop’s Palace, state-of-the-art Cedars Hall or Wells’ majestic Town Hall and the medieval Market Square. Ensembles will also have the chance to take part in a tailored workshop with expert tutors and fun social activities including an English cèilidh, barbecue and cricket match!
