We are delighted that the Festival is happening once again!
A date for the diary! The annual IAYO Festival of Youth Orchestras is due to be held at 3pm on Saturday, 19 February 2022.
The Festival of Youth Orchestras is the annual celebration of youth orchestras and the young musicians of Ireland, with a great variety of music played by young people, for young people.
We are thrilled to return to the National Concert Hall Dublin for our annual Festival of Youth Orchestras! The 2022 edition will see young musicians from across Ireland take to the stage to perform classical works and modern arrangements for youth orchestra in a variety of styles. It’s a family-friendly event not to be missed!
We will have one concert in the afternoon of Saturday, 19 February in the National Concert Hall featuring:
- City of Belfast School of Music
- Music Generation Louth Senior String Orchestra
- Dundalk Grammar School
- Irish Midlands Youth Orchestra
- Queen’s University Symphony Orchestra.
The 2022 edition will see young musicians from across Ireland take to the stage to perform classical works and modern arrangements for youth orchestra in a variety of styles. The concert will feature classics such as the Waltz from Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky, two movements from The Firebird Suite by Stravinsky, and the beautiful Palladio by Karl Jenkins along with music from the movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunger Games and Gone with the Wind, a traditional Irish work by Michael Rooney and the premiere of a new composition by Tiffany Qiu and plenty more!
It’s a family friendly event not to be missed!
