IAYO engages in artistic programming and training for orchestra conductors, organisers and young instrumentalists.
Our flagship event is the Festival of Youth Orchestras, held annually in the National Concert Hall in early February. We also assist in the management and administration of the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble and ConCorda Chamber Music courses which are held each summer. For younger players we hold a weekend of chamber music annually at the end of April.
Workshops with member orchestras are ongoing throughout the year, including a regular series of workshops for school ensembles.
Workshops and short training courses are held on an ongoing basis for the facilitators of youth orchestras.
