Music Generation Laois is inviting applications for the roles of:

  • Keyboard tutor;
  • World Percussion tutor.

Keyboard tutor
Music Generation Laois is now recruiting for a keyboard tutor for the Music Generation Laois School of Rock. Keyboard tuition is delivered in small group classes, and the focus is on popular repertoire. The successful candidate will be an active musician and an experienced musician educator. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A high standard of performance in the genres of rock and pop is essential;
  • A proven track record in individual and group instrumental teaching is essential;
  • A qualification in music/music education is desirable;
  • Experience of leading a multi-instrumental ensemble is desirable;
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development in the area of music education/ leading ensembles/ performance is desirable;
  • Each appointment to LOETB is subject to receipt of a satisfactory disclosure from the National Vetting Bureau.

World percussion tutor
Music Generation Laois is now recruiting for a World Percussion Tutor for the Music Generation Laois Stampede Drumming Programme. World drumming tuition is delivered in whole-class settings using a range of percussion, including African and South American drums. The successful candidate will be an active percussionist and an experienced musician educator. Further training/mentoring in world percussion will be provided if required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A high standard of percussion performance is essential;
  • A proven track record in group instrumental teaching is essential;
  • A qualification in music/music education is desirable;
  • Experience of leading a multi-instrumental ensemble is desirable;
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development in the area of music education/ leading ensembles/ performance is desirable;
  • Each appointment to LOETB is subject to receipt of a satisfactory disclosure from the National Vetting Bureau.
