ECMTA Annual Meeting 2016




ECMTA Annual Spring Meeting 28th April to 1st May 2016 at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. The ECMTA Annual Spring Meeting will be filled with seminars, workshops and concerts from Thursday evening till Sunday afternoon. On Sunday there will also be the General Meeting with Elections for the new Chairman and Board.

Keynote speaker: We are pleased to welcome for the first time renowned psychotherapist Eugenijus Laurinaitis, MD, Ph.D, Professor at the Institute of Psychology, Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius. Professor Laurinaitis, previously of the University of Vilnius Faculty of Medecine, will deliver both the keynote address – Chamber Ensemble as a Group: Personalities, Characters, Relationship, Creativity – and a special workshop: Relationship, Emotions and Values in Group Dynamic – Implications for Teaching

Institutional partners: As with several previous meetings, the ECMTA will be meeting in parallel with the Baltic States Annual Festival of Student Chamber Ensembles. This year the UMFC will be hosting the event with support from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Workshops and masterclasses: In addition to chamber music ensembles from music schools in Warsaw and the Baltic states, student ensembles from participating ECMTA partners will be welcome. As in previous gatherings and meetings, ECMTA teachers and professors are invited to give masterclasses. Along with the usual thematic workgroups, conferences will provide insight into Polish chamber music practice, pedagogy and repertoire.

Concerts: The Inaugural concert of the festival will take place on Thursday evening 28th April: ECMTA members are cordially invited to attend. Concerts will take place at the Frederick Chopin Music University (UMFC) and at the White Hall of the magnificent Wilanow Palace.
