67th European Music Festival for Young People

The 67th European Music Festival for Young People (Europees Muziekfestival Voor de Jeugd) instrumental edition will take place from 3 – 6 May, 2019.

Applications are open to ensembles with participants under the age of 28. EMJ aims to bring young musicians and ensembles together from across Europe and the world to share their music and discover each other’s cultures. Participation is possible in one or more of fourteen different categories.

Registration costs are a minimum of €75 and a maximum of €250 per ensemble. It is possible to participate for the full weekend (Friday, 3 May – Monday, 6 May) or just for one day (Saturday, 4 May or Sunday, 5 May). There are package deals available for accommodation and meals.

Every participating ensemble performs before an internationally renowned jury. Besides the jury concerts, the festival also offers a lot of extra activities including workshops and other concerts. Fraternisation and cultural exchanges are the central theme.
