The Arts Council announces that it will offer a Jerome Hynes Fellowship for 2018/19

The Arts Council is delighted to announce that it will offer a Jerome Hynes Fellowship for 2018/19. The application window is now open for the Jerome Hynes Fellowship 2018/19, an award that aims to develop outstanding cultural leaders for Ireland.

The fellowship is an initiative of the London-based Clore Leadership Programme, which annually attracts in the region of twenty-five exceptional individuals who have the potential to play a significant role across a wide range of cultural activity. The successful candidate will receive a bursary of the equivalent of £15,000 Sterling in addition to a training budget of £7,500 Sterling for costs associated with their individual development programme.

The deadline for applications for the Jerome Hynes Fellowship on the Clore Leadership Programme is 12 Noon, Monday 29 January, 2018. The name of the 2018/19 Fellow will be announced in June 2018.

This Fellowship is open to candidates who live and work in Ireland and who are committed to developing their career as a cultural leader in Ireland.

Commencing in September 2018, the recipient of the Jerome Hynes Fellowship will undertake most of their programme over a concentrated seven month period between January and July 2019. In addition to shared learning activities, each Fellow undertakes a customised programme of personal and professional development.

The structure of the programme includes:
• two residential leadership courses

• three-month placement to gain practical experience in a cultural organisation

• bespoke learning opportunities

• individually-selected training, mentoring and coaching.

Fellows take a total of approximately eight months away from work to focus on the programme.
