Ulster Youth Orchestra 2020 Applications Now Open
The application process for the Ulster Youth Orchestra 2020 Summer residential course and concert tour is now open.
Applications are open to young musicians from, living in, or studying full-time in Northern Ireland and aged between 14 & 23 on 16 August 2020 who have a standard equivalent to at least ABRSM Grade 7.
Ulster Youth Orchestra has confirmed Daniele Rustioni (the Ulster Orchestra’s new Chief Conductor) for their 2020 Summer residential course and concerts.
UYO has also announced soloist Ciaran McCabe (ex UYO and now member of Maggini Quartet & the London Chamber Orchestra) who will perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto between Dvořák’s Carnival Overture and Sibelius’ Symphony No.1 in E minor.
Joining Daniele and Ciaran at the 10-day residential course will be rehearsal conductor Daniel Palmizio and a team of experienced professional tutors who will deliver an exceptionally high standard of musical training.
The residential course begins at Greenmount College in Antrim on Sunday, 16 August and culminates with two public concerts at the Guildhall in Derry/Londonderry on Monday, 24 August and at the Ulster Hall on Tuesday, 25 August 2020.
Both challenging and highly rewarding, this course offers a unique orchestral experience that develops the talented young musician musically and socially.
Closing date for applications is Friday, 1 November.
