Spike Cello Festival, 9-11th February
Spike Cello Festival is happening in Dublin on 9-11th February featuring 3 days of alternative cello, including alt-folk, jazz, trad, cabaret, cello yoga and cello clowning, based in the Workman’s Club. Artists featured include: Cello Ireland, Kate Ellis, Vivienne Long, Kevin Murphy (Slow Moving Clouds, Seti the First), Mary & the Pigeons, Lioba Petrie, Rushad Eggleston and Yocella.
As part of this festival on Saturday 10th Feb Zan Berry (US) will lead an improvisational workshop open to all young instrumentalists from age 8+ in the Vintage Room (Upstairs in the Workman’s Club, 10 Wellington Quay, Dublin 2). The young musicians will have the opportunity to learn some improvisation games from the workshop and will present a 5-minute improvisation-based work at the all ages show.
This will be followed by an ‘all ages’ show at 2pm downstairs in the Workman’s where both Naomi Berrill and Zan Berry will present a show open to students, fans and the curious of all ages.
