Irish Baroque Orchestra’s Baroque Strings Programme
Registration for the Irish Baroque Orchestra‘s Baroque String programme is now open!
From September 2020, the Irish Baroque Orchestra will be launching their Baroque Strings programme in Dublin. This new amateur baroque group will meet on Monday nights in the National Concert Hall, Dublin and is open to intermediate string players playing to the equivalent of Grade 6 standard or higher, aged 18 and over.
Baroque Strings will meet once a week. The tutoring team comprises Claire Duff (violin), Thérèse Timoney (violin), Aliye Cornish (viola) and Malachy Robinson (lower strings).
With participants playing on modern instruments with baroque bows, it is envisaged that these sessions will provide a valuable insight into the style and technique of period playing.
The first group of 10 sessions will begin on Monday, 14 September and will run until Monday, 30 November, with two weeks off on 19 October and 26 October. The cost is €15 per session (€10 for students), and by signing up you are committing to pay for all 10 sessions regardless of whether or not you are able to attend.
Registration for this course is now open. You can find out more information from irishbaroqueorchestra.com.
