Contemporary Music Centre Continuing Professional Development Series | November 2020

The Contemporary Music Centre is running an online series on Continuing Professional Development for free during the month of November.

On Thursday, 5 November 2020 at 4pm, Conor O’Boyle will host a Logic Pro X Clinic. CMC is providing this clinic to assist with some of the challenges that composers and other contemporary music specialists may face when using Logic Pro X. Composer and producer Conor O’Boyle has experience in finding solutions to a variety of technical problems that may arise, from beginners to advanced users. Learn more.

On Thursday, 12 November 2020 at 4pm, Xenia Pestova Bennett will present Calm, Balance & Strength: Breathwork for Anxiety Management. CMC is providing this session to assist composers and other contemporary music specialists in coping with some of the challenges they may be facing due to Covid-19. Following a general overview of anxiety management with Contemporary Music Centre’s Linda O’Shea Farren, Xenia will introduce anxiety management techniques based on simple and proven breathing techniques. On Thursday, 19 November 2020 at 4pm, CMC will host a Notation Clinic in Sibelius & Introduction to Dorico with Anselm McDonnell and Lillie Harris. CMC is providing this clinic to assist with some of the challenges that composers and other contemporary music specialists may face when typesetting new music in Sibelius. Learn more.

Finally, in the last of the CMC series, Rob Farhart will present on Developing an Audience on Thursday, 26 November at 4pm. Creative practitioners are heavily dependent on others discovering, and listening to, their music. CMC is providing this session to assist composers and other contemporary music specialists to disseminate their music at home and abroad, including coping with some additional dissemination challenges (among others) they may be facing due to Covid-19.
